The extrasensory perception

The extrasensory perception

– Anant Sri

Whatever we see around us is not the only thing that exists around us. There is much more to what we perceive through our sense organs. We have five sense organs, organs of sight, hear, smell, touch and taste with which we experience this world. These sense organs have their limitations, so actually we see a very small fraction of what exists around us.

The five senses are attributed to five elements that form the basis of all creation. And seekers and siddhas relating to these five elements have been able to get a deeper understanding of the mysteries around us. The finer the perception the clearer is the world of the mysteries.

As our sensitivity increases, we begin to see things that others do not see. In such cases, the society around us takes it as an abnormality, whereas it is an additional faculty that has not yet developed in others. Most of the time if someone reports perceiving more than what the others perceive, leave alone the people, even that person himself may sometimes consider that something has gone wrong with him, and that affects his normal life and that he needs treatment. They do not require any treatment, but they do need to know that there is this subtle world around them and it is just that they are becoming aware of it, and that it is not an abnormality but a refinement.

Then there can be people who can just imagine things and create a world of their own believing it to be true, and it is these people who need psychological or psychiatric treatment.

But then there are also those who have finer perception, they know and have absolutely no problem and lead a normal life. In fact, this faculty helps them to decode many mysteries and miracles of life, and they contribute a lot to the creativity in the society.

What is more significant is that if somebody is really seeing more than others, there has to be significant improvement in the quality of his life. If the life continues to be just as before, then there is all likelihood that the person is not seeing the things that are there but is simply imagining things that are not there, just hallucinations. And such people need treatment.

When someone says that he has seen something that others have not seen, you can never be sure that what he is saying is false or true. There is all possibility that he has seen more.

One needs to have a scientific approach. Scientific approach does not mean that you prove something. Scientific approach means you are open to explore and see what is there. You cannot say anything definite for there can be many unexplored facets to a thing. You can at best say that for now this is the thing.

Seeing is not just seeing with your eyes, it has a broader connotation, seeing is also seeing your thoughts, your emotions and even understanding things. That is why the term ‘I see’ is commonly used to indicate something which has been understood.

    एक समय पर एक seeker संसार में रहने लायक ही नहीं रह जाता…

I used to think I was very weird, and even now, people around me sometimes see me that way. Now I can manage things in a beautiful way since I am listening to you from past 4 years.

I would request if you could explain this subject in a detailed way.

I was always so fulfilled in my own company,
so deeply at home within my solitude…
If I had not encountered you in my life, I would have become a refuge like Milarepa’s in some isolated cave.

It’s your hypnotic presence which has forced this extreme introvert personality to share her emotions with the world…to trust the unknown.
