People take soul mates to be lovers. Soul mates are not lovers, but lovers could be soul mates. Soul mate can be any body you meet in life that has the energy, the power of bringing about a great change, a significant transformation in you. A soul mate can be anybody from the society, it can be your father, your sister, your wife or any other member of the family, or else it can be a friend, a teacher, almost anybody, but the association deeply brings about a new you.
You cannot go looking for soul mate, as you do not know who it would be. Moreover, there is no instrument to measure or detect a soul mate. Soul mate will appear existentially. The association with soul mate can be for lifetime, or it may be a short lived one, but whatever change has to take place will take place.
Then it is not necessary that there has to be just one soul mate. More than one soul mate may come into your life depending on your journey. Appearing of soul mate is a blessing of existence and when it happens, a new you, is born.
