Eternal Truth

Truth is immense and its expression is also vast. Expressions may be similar, or they may differ. When truth dawns within someone then expression finds its own way, at times as silence and at times it is vocal; at times totally different and at times somewhat similar.

Rahim says-

रहिमन बात अगम्य की

कहन सुनन की नाहिं

जे जानत ते कहत नहिं

कहत ते जानत नाहिं

Meaning that the truth is such mystery that it can be lived, you can be in it. It is unreachable because you do not have to go anywhere for it. It is here and now. For entering it you just need to drop your passion to reach and acquire and just become still within. All this is not for saying and listening. Those who know either don’t say at all or else they speak with great hesitation and those who don’t know this truth, speak about it very powerfully with great certainty.

Lao-tzu writes in the very beginning of his book Tao Te Ching –

The Tao that can be told

Is not the eternal Tao

The name that can be named

Is not the eternal name.

Meaning, the Tao that is the eternal rule, the ultimate truth cannot be spoken about. And that about which something can be said cannot be eternal Tao or ultimate truth. Ultimate truth or God is nameless and that which can be named, cannot be eternal truth.

Don’t know whether Rahim had any knowledge of Lao-tzu or not, but both are saying the same thing. Whatever is the truth, it may find expression at any place, at any time, through anyone, and it will be same. Nobody copies another; neither there is any need to copy. Issue of real and duplicate is raised by those who don’t know. Whatever is the truth shall always stay. And whatever is unreal cannot stay for long.
