The life of a Master is mysterious. He is not just a saint, a teacher or a preacher or a miracle expert. His whole life moves in the absoluteness taking forward a whole level of existence. People who are a part of that movement may be anywhere in the world, but they get drawn to him in due course of time and get associated with him. These people already being part of the process do not have to go through extensive sadhna, for his wisdom descends on them in the most natural way. The entire sadhna that had happened through the Master, its essence is smoothly transferred on to them. They just have to be open and receptive towards him in deep love and the descent of the supramental, the name given by Mahrishi Arvind to this enlightenment, happens.
Enlightenment is an understanding, a wisdom born out of experiencing the pure being. It does not change the life and journey of the mind body instrument. However there is a change in the approach to life and the soul qualities do play a role in that approach and the way you see life for then you become detached to everything and all life is like a drama in which you are also playing a role but you are not that role. This is what we know as leela in spirituality.
However, in spite of the fact that the truth is direct and simple, it is not easily understood. The reason being that we are so identified with the body mind instrument that we look for transformation in things from our glasses of pseudo identity and craft a rosy imagination of realization. And then we search for that rosy picture in our day to day life, and finding it going through ups and downs once again, with no rosiness in life, our picture gets crashed and we are disappointed and lose heart. We may at times conclude that there is no such thing as realization.
And the same way, when we look at Masters, their life looks so ordinary, so down to earth, having the same pleasures and pain that we fail to understand that there is any depth in the person, and we miss out the subtle aspect of his way of approach to life. We try to find something extraordinary, something special, and something superhuman to declare him as a Guru. And then they go in search of miracles, everyone trying to make their Guru Godly, the greatest on earth, giving rise to cults.
We are looking at the wrong place. We are not to interpret things looking at the body mind instrument of a Master for they have their own journey of ups and downs. Enlightenment comes from beyond the body-mind, from the realm of mystery, from the realm of unknown. It can be lived but not known. We journey from known to unknown and then from unknown to unknowable. Enlightenment comes from the unknowable.
A Master though being in body mind lives in the realm of mystery, the unknowable and it is that bridge through which that supramental reaches us or alternatively we can say that the total consciousness shifts to a higher realm and that is experienced as our being finding its expression as peace and bliss, love and harmony, within and all around us.
