Kaam Vasna, Death and Love – Interrelated

– Anant Sri

Kaam Vasna, death and love, all three are interrelated. There is nothing in isolation, everything is interconnected. We are born from kaam-vasna. And whatever is born will die one day and whatever has a beginning shall come to an end also. Therefore, death is born with birth. You get birth and at that moment itself one thing is for sure that you will die. These are two ends, two pillars and connecting these two ends like a bridge is love.

As I have often said the terms Kaam-vasna and love and even death have not been truly understood and therefore all three create fear within us. It is this fear that stops people to even discuss on these topics.

Kaam vasna again as I have said umpteen number of times, that it is not sex alone, it includes all desires within a person. People are afraid of Kaam-vasna because with every वासना you die to some extent. You will be surprised to know that there are certain species of insects that die after their first sexual activity itself and furthermore in some of them the female eats up the male during the activity and half the male is gone by the end of the activity. Kaam-vasna takes you in death and that is why people make it fearful.

They have condemned the body so much that the body gets neglected and therefore we become so insensitive that one can neither feel one’s own body nor their partners nor any others. And because of this insensitivity towards the body even the sexual activity becomes very superficial and mill of the run.

It is of utmost importance to increase the awareness and sensitivity to be able to have a true experience of anything in life. Sadhna is all about increasing the awareness and sensitivity within us. We have been gifted with five senses of sight, hear, smell, touch and taste. As we become aware, our sensitivity increases. Then there is the sixth sense, our intuition. As we become sensitive innumerable horizons open for us. We come to know and feel a lot much more. Our perception increases with the increase in sensitivity. People think that there is something special in people who are intuitive and can come to know many things, but it is not so. The possibility is open in all, everyone is intuitive, it is just that we don’t see, we are not aware. But it comes into our reach with the increase in our awareness and sensitivity.

Kaam-vasna is not so superficial; it is a great happening where the possibility of a new life lies. How can it be so insensitive? Just two cells, a sperm and an egg unite and multiply to give birth to a new life. How do these cells pair to develop a body that is weaved in such an intricate way so that the life coming will be unfolded. Itis not only mysterious, but  wonderful. And for such a great happening, it is the kaam vasna that is instrumental. Then is it not something extremely sensitive and divine? It is this kaam-vasna that takes you into death, and it is this kaam-vasna that takes you into love and it is this kaam-vasna that gives a new life.

The attraction of two people going into kaam-vasna is of the two cells that want to unite for a new life to commence. Had the society been more sensitive then forced marriages and forced children would not be there to corrupt the society and thereby the coming generation. It is the forced marriages and forced sex that injects corrupted features in the new life that is coming through them.

Sexual relationship at the body level is an innocent affair and natural. It gets soiled when it comes into the minds and gives rise to limitations, conditionings and fears.

If the new life was coming from a sexual act out of love whether in marriage or without marriage, highly evolved children would be born to develop an evolved society. If a child was to be born from parents in deep love, then they would be अवतार only.

Now there is another aspect that plays its role in kaam-vasna that is our energy system. All individuals have within them masculine and feminine energies that need to be balanced. It is because of these energies that people get attracted to one another and kaam-vasna comes into play. This attraction, this kaam vasna is coming not from the male-female gross body but from the masculine and feminine energies within an individual and therefore it is not a male female attraction in physical form. This kaam-vasna could be between any two individuals, whether it is man and a woman or two men or two women, in fact anybody, even your pets for that reason. It is an attempt to harmonize the masculine feminine energies within you with the cooperation of masculine feminine energies within the other. In this the physical activity of sexual relationship is immaterial.

Any amount of sexual activity or changing partners in trial and error is not going to give fulfillment until your energies within you get harmonized. Once the energies get harmonized, you reach a fulfillment and then this kaam-vasna transforms into love, where you can be together and see the interconnectedness between the two.  And once you see the interconnectedness there is no fear. There is no fear in love; fear is only absence of love.

In this love there has to be a beloved, there has to be someone you love, only then love is possible.

And this one pointed love with the other becomes an opening for understanding the interconnectedness with all. And realizing this interconnectedness you enter into oneness, where the other does not exist and with the other not there, you are also gone. And then from loving someone you become loving, you become love itself. Only one vast expanse of consciousness remains and you transcend to non-duality. This completes the cycle, you are total. You are complete like a full moon, but you are also a zero for you are not there as you, this is death. Here completeness and death become synonymous.

Now what dies and what remains is to be seen. Death is the end of the individual, death is the end of the ego. All that is pseudo goes. Everything else remains. The assembly of the five elements i.e. the body disintegrates. The cosmic elements return to their elemental nature. Whenever the consciousness again manifests the body is reassembled and at times the five elements come together to form the new body. In this way even the body does not die. It just disintegrates.
